website progress...

So the website and the app are both designed ready for the pitch/ hand in. just have to do the animation of how the app would look like working which will be hard work as i am not sure how to even use flash- i am going to do one in photoshop and then also look for help from animators and jamie- if i can get them then i will use both but if not then i will just use the photoshop animation!

on friday i am going to play around with the links for the website and things on dreamweaver so that you can see how it will be when it is launced but as it is a pitch i do not have to have the website up and running, i will be showing demonstrations of it but i will not need to have it running online yet- i am going to also create design boards with the layouts displayed on them to make a proffessional pitch. i am considering printing the flyers also.

ANNNYYYWWAAAYYYS

here are the images of the complete website. :-)
users enter their details they have set when they registered with the website so that the site can get their saved items in their wardrobe!!!
the can drag items into the "changing room
here they can then choose their size model if the need to change it from their setting- this allows them to see what the clothes are like on a model their size!!!
here the user can choose a colour pallete which the outfit generator will use to create an outfit
a list of prices and a small paragraph explaining the outfit and trend and any tips too. the users can buy save or share any information they have on the site.
shop section- the site will base their shopping on what is in their wardrobe- eg it will monitor their activity so it will know their favourite shops and also sizes and most viewed items eg if a person likes shoes from topshop so the site will have topshop as the first shop etcetera.... if you know what i meannnn?
you can navigate easily at the bottom if you want to!
scroll between rails of clothing

brief info about the girls in the events section

the talk section is quite similar to twitter- i got my main inspiration for it from there. due to the quick nature of just posting your thoughts- online friends can reply back to these quickly and instantly.
beauty tips section is the same as the iphone app as it will have video clips each day of the new beauty tip/ advice!

celeb style

Keeping the same style as the application so that the website and the app link together- using a collage sort of idea adding new anchor points to create sharp lines which contrast the softer lines of the clothing. I have experimented with the softer lines and other shapes but it doesn't look great and it wouldnt link with the application too.

Hating this project.

Since doing the work experience with Glenn I realised that, that is what I want to do, I love streetwear and styling for outdoorsy streetwear was so refreshing, I love everything about the street style, I wish I had done something more to do with that now, I really am finding this project hard to get enthusiastic about as I really hate the topic, the fact it is like the target audience of "grazia" really puts me off and makes me feel sick. I am so disappointed in this project and I just want to finish it now.

flyer designs

Here are my flyer designs for shops that are on the app and website- to help to promote the app and site I will put these flyers to advertise into the app ad website. I think it is a good way to promote as it is quite cheap and by having the corresponding shops helping each other out on my site and app it will attract attention from other people who want to be on my app and website. I havent put much information on them so they are simple and straightforward and attract attention in an easy way, here are the designs....

google advertisments

to help advertise when a user is typing in something fashion or beauty related, the website will be advertised in the top section of google....
here is my example...
(you will probably need to click on them to see it properly! I created this in InDesign quite simply by taking a screen shot and then using the eye dropper to get the colour matches the same etc.

website page 1

i want the website to be the same as the app so that customers and people who have never seen it before can instantly put the two together. this page is showing that they are now available on the iPhone, linking the two together.

I also need to create flyers for the shops to have in their store!

The Girls: Paper Eaters @ Selfridges Ultralounge

For my app I am just doing a "whats going on" page where the users can see the recent on going events in the industry. So I just went around took pictures and then I am going to put these in my app. Overall the event was not what I expected and I think most of the visitors thought it was for children, I saw a wide range of people from the course there and the work was brilliant! It is a shame that The Girls didn't really speak to many of the visitors as people did not know what it was for/ about. This was about 4 days into the event, hopefully by now things are in full swing and people know more about what The Girls are doing. A really beautiful setting and so many colours! Great place to stumble across if you are a shopper unknown to what it is however!!!! :-)

the 7 ps of my App!

PRODUCT:
A fashion application for the iPhone- including style tips, shopping, a wardrobe where you can choose a model your size to see the clothing that suit your shape, events information and so on...

A correspondent website that will be a link to the App, covering the same topics and features the website will simply help to promote the Application also.

PRICE:
The App will be free, most Apps are free, as popularity increases, stores will pay to advertise and to show garments on the App, also to have their product in the Application's shop.

PLACE:
The iPhone and the internet.

PROMOTION:
Promotion will be through the website, word of mouth, as well as flyers in the stores that the App promotes, (as a way of helping each other out sort of thing!) website advertising on search engines etc...

PEOPLE:
Fashion students, the general public, anyone with an interest and passion in style and fashion, the app will not be aimed at high end fashion retailers/ customers as it is a source for people who shop the high street and how to create a high end retail look for high street prices.

The app will send "Push notifications" to the user, either messages from online friends, or from the retailers that are advertising/ promoting garments through my App eg "We Love say: Check out the new pastel dresses at Topshop for a great spring/ summer look" etc...

People will expect the app to be functioning properly all the time and also to be regularly updated with latest news/ trends and so on. Tips will be updated daily and style tips will be updated every week as there will be 5 style tips each week to flick through.
